Macrolan/SEACOM Feedback

Octotel is digging trenches in front of my house as I type (1st and only FNO in the area). Would you recommend Microlan as an ISP as their prices do look good? Looking at a download line speed of at least 100mb.
Well I'm with MacroLan on Vumatel with only a 10/2 connection. On Vumatel network I have no issue with speed or connectivity with MacroLan and I would recommend them to anyone. Don't know how they are on Octotel network...maybe someone else on here has a MacroLan/Octotel account?

Edit: My bad. Thought this was another thread. Your message was clearly aimed at OP.

Urgh, I'd love their pricing/website to actually work...
What are their prices like?

Yeah, as much as I like MacroLan, they REALLY need to update their website. They used to only serve businesses and only 'recently' entered the FTTH market. They are yet to update their website to cater to this market. So right now, you have to contact them and let them know you are interested and then they will send you an application form with the pricing. If you are in a Vumatel area, you can also visit the Vumatel shop page where you will see all the pricing for the ISPs including MacroLan.

Openserve here :P
Yeah, kinda crazy how so many of the ISP's have websites from the 80's (even some of the newer guys!)

ooo, those are some nice prices.
do their 100 / 200 have any sort of FUP?

I'm thinking of doing either this or vox and then adding a VoiP service (seen a couple people recommend some on here)

edit: anyone know what their gaming/streaming is like during the day?

There is no FUP policy with MacroLan. Also no throttling or shaping. Regarding the gaming/streaming, keep in mind my comments is on Vumatel network, but I have never had issues. When I play Dota, no matter the time of day, my ping has never been higher than 5 but is usually 1 or 2. The only streaming I do is on YouTube but I have never had issues with buffering.

Fantastic, I've sent a mail.
I mostly play EU ;)
The decision really came down between them and Vox. But vox support is terrible it seems

Plus, from what I hear, Vox won't give you access to your own goddamn router. So if you want to change any settings like your wifi password you have to call them ask them to change it for you.

What.
That seems silly. So someone like me with a "nice" router would have to use theirs without something like asus mesh?
