Made a USB jig to reset my Galaxy S2 custom rom/kernel count

I know this is old news for a lot of you Android veterans, but it's new news to me, so I wanted to share my little success.
I got my new SGS2 last week Wednesday and rooted it. Shortly thereafter I discovered the cunning okes at Samsung keep track of customs kernel/roms etc being flashed and that a USB jig thingy can reset it (on current SA firmware).

Being a technical guy with electronics background, I made myself a little jig this afternoon and here are the pics:

1. SO pretty (the jig, that is) and 2. PLEASE say where you got that micro-USB jack with its covers? (I've got full-size A-plugs, not so much the micro ones)

Good find to unearth the µUSB plug ..in bloody audio/video of all places! :wtf: Just a pity they don't seem to have the nice covering bits.

Yeah, but if you look at these connectors they only are available for cable encapsulation applications due to the size, thus no options for covers, etc, like the larger versions.

You will probably find that the dude in China who is selling on Dealextreme knocked up a cheap-as-chips mold for his own cover, or more likely found it from some other dude across town who happened to be making special cables, as it has a hole at the back for what looks like cable entry.
