I know this is old news for a lot of you Android veterans, but it's new news to me, so I wanted to share my little success.
I got my new SGS2 last week Wednesday and rooted it. Shortly thereafter I discovered the cunning okes at Samsung keep track of customs kernel/roms etc being flashed and that a USB jig thingy can reset it (on current SA firmware).
Being a technical guy with electronics background, I made myself a little jig this afternoon and here are the pics:

Jig came out quite neatly:
