Magento Mass Price Updating

Hi everyone,

I manage an online store (Magento platform) with about 3000+ products. Prices of some products constantly change on a monthly basis while other remain unchanged. My question is, what is the most efficient way to update these prices? Surely there is an easier way than updating prices individually?

Not sure if a mass price updater extension would work as not all the prices change.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am thinking it would work as if a price doesn't change it, the mass updater will just "change" it to current price, i.e. not change the value at all. This would work out well if you have a base Excel price which is kept up to date. Are you just using Excel for prices or do you have an ordering or accounting software where prices are also updated? If so, there could be a way to connect your software to your online shop so prices are automatically updated.

Thank you for your feedback. Currently we're just using Excel however we're in the process of moving over to a Point of Sale system which will be linked to an accounting software.

So there is a way to link this with Magento?

You can use something like this:

Alternatively I write my own Interface into Magento's Web Service to automate what I need done.
Ultimately you would want a situation where you update the price in one place and it propagates to all the relevant systems referencing it.
