Magsafe 1 cable

Hi
Anyone know where to source a magsafe 1 cable I can solder into the charger? Original cable broke right at the grommet thing.
 
Can't help with a cable but well done for getting that case open!

Share your secret please because I've always given up… usually after stabbing myself with the screwdriver I was using to pry it open. :o
 
Circlip pliers. The ones that spread the Circlip wider when you squeeze. Wedge into where the flap for the cable winder and squeeze. Pop.

pleasure :)
I used a pair of bent-nose ones. You can also then work them around the case as you spread it, to break the glue all the way round.
 
Why dont you just shorten the cable a bit past the break and resolder?
 
Just ordered one of those cables off eBay as my cable is on its way out.

It's broken right at the grommet that goes through the case. The grommet thing seems to be a moulded jobbie, and it also changes the form of the cable from a coax to two separate cables.

Could probably fix it and glue it in place... but this will look nicer.
 
a new cable will, this could be done in the interim if you needed to.
