South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board chairperson Mbulaheni Maguvhe says a lack of loyalty from employees is the main problem confronting the organisation in the face of detailed allegations of fraud, corruption and a general lack of corporate governance at the public broadcaster.

Ya, watched the last two days. This guy is a joker. It is so easy to say "I don't know". As for the company secretary before him... They have willfully and/negligently not fulfilled their duties. The MP's frustration was clear.

IIRC at the beginning it was reiterated that they had immunity except in the event that they perjure themselves.

Absolutely - in either instance, I think the guy has demonstrated his failure in governance by not being aware of how the SABC was being managed.


When he came out with that comment about - he will go when he gets a letter - I could just see the typist drafting the YOUR DISMISSED letter already

was painful to watch...but, was playing his disability card well...the committee was way too lenient..the constant can not recall, was not on that board committee...basically, he knew of nothing...the blind leading the blind...apt!

I had a chuckle when he answered to the question on why he opted for the top of the range "fancy" car, and he said he had no capability of judging how nice a is car. The DA lady promptly stopped her line of questioning. She almost apologised. :D:D

Sure he does - he might not be able to see what it looks like, but thats only one aspect of the car.

Loyalty is given freely, due to feelings of belonging, being appreciated and respected as a person.

None of that is happening at the SABC, so I think the word Maguve was looking for is obedience..

Yeah, I know but that is my point. There was no way she was going to carry on with that line of questioning without looking like she was being insensitive. I was merely adding to what another posters said.
