I know this dont really fall under hear, but i dunno where else to put it.

Our site used to be hosted at a company called Imagine IPS. Our mail MX was sitting with PSG-Online.

We then decided to move our site, and the MX to afrihost. For quite a while our clients say they have been sending us mails but we do not receive it.

I spoke to afrihost and they say they do not pick up any SMTP connection to their server from the remote host. I then called Imagine IPS and asked them if they have dns entries for our site still and they said they have for our site and mx. I asked them to delete all dns entries for our domain

Now my question is, is it possible that certain mails got to us and others didnt cause Imagine IPS still had dns entries for our mail on their system. Say some clients dns said our mail was sitting with PSG and sent it there and others said its with afrihost and sent it there.

I dont have any other reason/answer why we are not getting all our mail.

thats what i also thought. According to that site it is correct, but what else could be the problem?

Hi ultra-v16,

There are quite a few things that could be wrong, from the DNS to the mail filtering set up.

How long ago did this change take place? Were the e-mails dropped or did they return a Non Delivery Report?

Happened about june last year...they all get dropped, no bounce backs. Guys at afrihost says nothing they can do...they checked through all 6 of their mail servers and spam servers and get nothing back from the email addresses i give them.

What worries me is why does Imagine IPS say the mx is with PSG-online and PSG_online says its with afrihost, thats why i guess its DNS related?

Hi ultra-v16,

Could you please PM me the mail address in question? I can see what I can come up with, if I get some spare time today ;)
