Hi Guys

I bought VW Amarok 2.0 BiTDI 4Motion in 2015. It was new and has now done about 83000km and its maintenance plan is expiring end on October 2020. I got a quotation from VW about extending the maintenance plan since they don't have extended warranty and was given several options

2 Years 100000-120000km for R35180
3 Years 100000-150000km for R49071
4 Years 100000-180000km for R71903

Well, I have not had any problem with the car so far, so I would like to know if it worth paying that much for a maintenance plan for Amarok, Does it usually give problems after 100000km. I know I can't predict the future, but for 20000km 2 years it is like one service provided that I won't have misfortune with another breakage. Would just keeping the money aside for the unfortunate event be more advisable.

I generally don't travel a lot and normally does one service a year

Thanks

A warranty and a service plan are different things. A warrant covers thing that may break, a service plan covers the servicing and may or may not cover wearing parts like brake pads or wiper blades.

As them how much the next few services are going to cost. Some services cost a lot because certain things are done. Like changing a timing belt at xyz Km's. Other services are just an oil change and general inspection. If the next 2 services are going to be less than R35K then there is your answer.

For extended warranties, there are 3rd party companies that offer these.
