We have a guest farm 30km from Johannesburg. We could not get a telephone line from telkom and there was no cell phone reception. We installed VSat which works great, then we had vodacom install a booster on the farm and now we have good cell phone for Vodacom user only. I see 3G does not work. We now have 60 Artisans from Germany staying with us for 6 months and they would like internet, I dont even know where to start. If I could get 3G, could I setup a WIFI area. They are willing to pay but not 24 month contract. Please any Ideas would be appreciated.

Yes, you could route the 3G via Wi-Fi. But why can you not get 3G if you can get Vodacom reception? Is your local tower not 3G capable?

I would call Vodacom Business directly and explain what you need.

The 3g footprint is a lot smaller than the 2g one. But a 3G router with a decent aerial will most likely sort the problem out.
