Major PlayStation 4 update details

Care to elaborate and actually have an opinion?

I see some pretty awesome additions there.

Ok, here you go.

Online storage capacity increase — I haven't ever reached 1% of space previously allocated, so I will never use this anytime soon.
YouTube live — I don't have fast enough upload capacity to actually use this.
Events — Something for multiplayer games that I don't play.
Favorite Groups — I don't play games with other people. I play mainly single player games.
Communities — Dedicated websites or Wiki's is where I go for info. Also steam has it and I don't use it. Also said I play a game finish the game, then get a new game. I don't linger much on a game.
Sharing video clips to Twitter — I could use it to share game spoilers?
Stickers — I play games mainly on PC and consoles, I ignore anything else.
Now Playing/What’s New — Ok, so it's informative.
Request to watch game play - We have issue with upload speeds in SA, can't even stream PS4 over 10Mbps ADSL to PS VITA without issues.

Was hoping for some PS2 emulation, as I still need to finish FF XII, and would love to play the Punisher again. Maybe some NTFS support for external media.

Thanks.

You see you are a very niche person with that list above.

As for online storage I ran out almost a year ago and have to manage it constantly to make space.

That being said it wouldn't need to be 10gb if some games didn't have retarded save game sizes and systems.

The communities thing will be big for clans as well as the "favourites" friends list.

What I would really like to see are User managed events where you can setup tournaments, ladders and even calendars through PSN.

But like you say if you don't play online it doesn't mean much for you.

On the flip side again support for external media is utterly irrelevant to me. I have a network for that.

PS4 sucks in a big way considering one needs Plus for multiplayer.

It is about R60 a month. Considering you get games every month, I don't think it is much.

Now the communities will be nice. Always felt it too clunky using an external page.

+2

Running the beta for a few days and there is nothing in it of note. The favourite groups is perhaps the most interesting part as you group your friends. Unfortunately no improvement with messaging (I really don't understand why they can't do a message preview in game as well as use messages without breaking out of the game) or party features.

The online storage increase is not related to the beta - it's a cap on your account. UPS support would be a great feature, but I doubt any console would ever have that.

You can only play them while you have a PSN+ account though. Xbox Live is better in this regard as the free game is yours forever...

I have an 80Mbps uncapped upload fiber link at home, I think the live stream is quite a cool addition.

I wanted to moan about + having a monthly fee, but then again I dont pay for XBL anymore as I dont have an XB360 anymore, so it just about breaks even.

Request to watch is also a very cool feature...especially if you're stuck on a level and want a buddy to show you how he does it, or if you just wanna veg with some multiplayer gameplay in the background.

Except I don't wanna play what they give me, I want to play the games I choose to play. I'm happy to pay a premium and play only 2-3 games. I don't enjoy filler.

Subscription payment models of the sort are retarded. Fsck Sony. Fsck M$.
