I havent been able to send or receive any mail on my Mweb account since Sunday.

After holding on for their tech support for 23 minutes and lsitening to their hard sell cr@p I gave up but I have heard they are having major authentication problems.

Anyone else with info on when it will be repaired??

I had a customer calling me late last night about the same thing. He could retrieve mail, but not send any.

A quick Crossloop session later, I changed the outgoing server to 'smtp.mweb.co.za' from 'relay.mweb.co.za' and all was well.

This page however still instructs you to use the 'relay.mweb.co.za' server. Guess it is outdated:

http://www.mweb.co.za/helpcentre/Email/EmailTechnicalWiFiSMTPAuthentication/tabid/1500/Default.aspx

As with all companies they have their rotten apples - I ordered a new all-in-one ADSL package for a client last year, and it still is not installed.

On the other hand, their Beta Webmail app is lightning fast (maybe I was the only one using it?).

Mweb sent a mail out last night about some changes wrt email, especially about requiring authentication on outgoing mail from hotsites in future. Dont have all the details with me but will update tonight

I haven't had any problems but I have always used smtp.saix.net.
