Anyway, this precision stuff is nonsense, you dont know how precise it will be until it releases, and sony has to use 2 stupid sticks to get it to work, so it just a wii clone after all, MS has gone way beyond that, and it only needs to be as precise as what is needed for their intended use for it, its aimed at the more casual market, they dont need extreme accuracy, its not going to be used for aiming in FPS's so accuracy isn't the problem.

About precission. M$ bought that camera from a company that have all the facts on their web. Specific details.Accuracy 1-2 cm range as opposed to the Sony sub mm range. :p But dont take my word for it. Read on the net

Hawk: Natal "not accurate enough"

Tony Hawk doesn't think too much of the new Xbox 360 motion-sensing camera and will happily stick to his plastic skateboard thank you very much.

"We actually tried to get [Tony Hawk: Ride] running with a camera, but it wasn't accurate enough," Hawk told MTV Multiplayer. "Plus you can't really do ollies, grabs and flips when you're just standing on nothing."

Hawk's board peripheral has in-built accelerometers as well as sensors that judge hand and foot movement off of the deck. Players aren't required to match moves exactly, but tricks like manuals (wheelies) and 180 spins can be fully recreated in living rooms.

and what game is going to need 1mm accuracy? I dont think id want to play a game that requires that sort of accuracy, sounds more like a chore than a game.

Do yourself a favour and go watch the Sony video in detail, then you watch the NATAL video again.

NATAL would only be good for the few games of the type M$ showed. Again check the videos although I am sure you wont have the ability or experience to grasp any of it. Therefore M$ used Spielberg, to mystify the uinformed and leave them in a sense of awe with a staged "dream" show. No game requiring real time fast action and precision controls can use that system at this stage, unlike the WII golf and the lack of use is confirmed as "Hawk" stated about his skateboard controller. Thus then why use a more expensive advanced technology if the same can be achieved by a standard cheap comtroller? Hmmm.

still more impressed by natal, how you going to kick a soccerball with sony's one? tape it to your feet?
point is, this is for the casual market, they dont care about mm accuracy, i doubt they would notice the difference anyway, and when they walk into the shop they are going to see one camera that needs stupid little sticks to use and one that doesnt need anything but your hands, any fool can figure out which one they will choose, why even choose sonys one when the wii will look almost identical to them. Natal on the other hand will seem completely new and revolutionary in comparison. Sony again seems to be behind the times.

Of course, so does nintendo and sony, and just because they dont care about mm accuracy doesnt make them uninformed or fools, but running around touting something cause its more accurate instead of stopping to see which technology will be more fun (thats what gaming is about) will make you look like a fool to a lot of people.

My post was meant sarcastically since I find it funny that something similar, read: not the exactly the same, to the Wii would bring up such intense discussion on the all powerful internets. Countless times on this forum I've read comments like "It gets old fast" or "It's not for hardcore gamers" when it comes to the Wii. What's the difference now? The Wii uses controllers with motion sensing, the PS3 will use sticks with motion sensing and the Xbox will just use your body with motion sensing. It's still motion sensing. Better tech granted. But still similar. All M$ and $ony are doing now trying to get their slice of pie that the Wii has been hogging.

Or does this mean the Wii is cool again? Did I miss something? When did the "hardcore" community do 180 when it comes to the Wii? Was there a memo?

The whole fanboi community and their cats and dogs are going at each other like…….. well cats and dogs really, over something that's been used by the Wii for a while now. And yes, again I know it's not the exactly the same thing. But it's still similar.

But you know what? You go for it dude!! If you go out and be the first to get $ony's new innovation (lol :rolleyes:) in gaming, I'll make sure that you get a nice sparkly gold star. Hell, if you're in the Gauteng region I'll even stick it on your forehead myself. :)

Thats the point I made and got kicked for it. The Wii have a system that works, they even now improved on it. The Sony have a system that works and they plan to improve on it in 2010, but the eye toy works. M$ has nothing. NADA, just a dream, and they try to sell something that does not work YET and when it does work it would be no different than the Wii. BUT the Wii will still be selling more, as we all know you need something to hold onto. Just imagine golf. With the M$ system you will have a virtual club on the screen, then you need to "pick it up" and swing it. Now imagine what is going to happen. You are going to swing the club and your arms will be already at the end of the stroke before the virtual club even moved. It wont be an rehearsed "con" show as we saw in the video during the M$ presentation.

Old news son, those private shows was ridden to death by many a critic and non critic alike. Milo is a scam/dream for now.The hands free controlling was already done by Sony in the name of Eye Toy. The M$ version just use newer technology which was already showed on the previous E3, they only added some "mystic" and mystery elements to it in the name off ........., Touted as something "new". The real truth is that the real effect of it would be no better than the Wiimote concerning accuracy and playability.
