I am a new Rain customer after issues in receiving my router I am now a week down the line and cannot get it working. I had a support lady on email yesterday after a couple of emails she disappeared & no more of mail were responded to. The worst experience I have ever had. I'm trying to cancel but I'm sure emails will not be responded to.

Same troubles here. Internet is off until I restart. Strange thing is: when I restart the router I have internet for a few minutes (10 minutes max), and a speedtest reveals something odd for the upload:

It is a flat line? It almost looks like they are intentionally throttling the upload speed to exactly 0.4mbps.

Have the same thing. Goes down every ten minutes. Have to restart router to get back online and then it's maybe on for ten minutes and the process has to be repeated. Sometimes it doesn't even stay on for ten minutes. This morning I had internet for about 60 seconds after every restart of the router, for more than two hours.

I have created multiple support tickets that are simply closed before the issue is resolved. The last 5G Technician that emailed me said that after testing a previous time, they have determined that they cannot give me speeds of over 30MB per second because of the location of my router. Two problems here:

1) I pay for the premium option, R999 per month. If theyknow I cannot get over 30MB/s why did they not inform me of this from the start in February 2020 (when I got speeds of over 100MB/s) so that I only paid R699 for the throttled option that can't go over 35MB/s.

2) How would they know where my router is postioned, exactly in my complex? My router is outside, because the signal inside was not as good as outside. That's why the router was designed to be mounted outside. Now all of a sudden they can see exactly where my router is, but back in Feb when I was doing the setup the person I spoke to could only give me the direction the nearest tower was from my street address? Then, once I moved the router outside I got well over 100MB/s. What has changed since then?

I'm done. I want to cancel. I've already ordered other wireless option until I get fiber setup in my house. One thing is for sure, I'm not giving Rain another cent.

Edit: Ha! Tried to post this and the internet went down again. 11:30-13:46

You know, I can still handle the slowness. It's the dropping connections that make me homicidal.

And my internet dropped in the few seconds it took to type that out. Class act, Rain.

I find it funny that my connection is perfect before 8 am then right after that I get disconnects throughout the whole day up until about 15:30 when it stabilizes. That sounds like congestion to me...

Yeah I find the inconsistency even within Rains own network bizarre. Optimiser will show you one thing, speed.rain will show you another that's nowhere close.

Its understandable when you use other sites that are not rain controlled

I don't trust speed.rain at all. What they show me there is always vastly different from what I get on Speedtest.net or Fast.com.
