Make a new 3G connection

I've got embedded 3G with a little program called Globetrotter to connect. I hate it because it always seems to disconnect me after a few minutes.

The IT guy at work created a new connection for me (standard Windows connection) and made it use the 3G instead. Worked perfectly - but I've just deleted it :/

Before annoying him again, anyone know how to make the windows dial up use my 3G?

When peering over his shoulder, I saw he typed some extra code somewhere on the connection. I just couldn't have my password activated, but it was cool

if it is a vodacom sim you can use these settings:

Number: *99***1#
username: username
password: password
APN: internet

Sorry, I don't have a windows machine with me to check out what the steps are to set up a connection

But how does it know which connection to use? I *think* the code he entered pointed it to the onboard 3G.

Dont forget to also add the initialization string code at the modem advanced properties.Remember at+cgdcont=1,***********

go to start connect to/properties/set up dialup/go through the wizard and there you go
