I have a 3.0L v6 engine in my car. What can be done to make it sound less like a Polo and more like a Mustang. Fuel economy is not a concern but I wouldn't want to damage anything. Drilling holes in the exhaust is not an option.

wtf, drilling hole in exhaust ? the person who does that needs to get his brains checked.

If you want your car to sound mean, drill holes in the airbox.

Get a performance filter, get new branches for the car and a nice exhaust. It should then sound like an xr6/328 or something like that ;)

What car is it?
I like the sound of mine and its standard!! Alot of people agree that it sounds like a Scooby and that I did something to it, but thats just how it sounds...

all that will work for sure, but i highly suggest drilling holes in the airbox, been there done that with my 3.1 VR6 and the tone was brilliant. I did have a TnT exhaust though.

Yip that works or just take out the trumpets. VRs sound good anyway!:)
Doesnt work on all cars though. Mostly on VWs.
Is there a nice flat bed K&N for a PGti? I want one.

Like a a tree branch shape thingy for the exhaust, lets the smoke out easier, faster.
Which Spider? 3.0 V6 GTV??? Ooooh you can make the baby sound LEKKER!!!:D A friend of mine has a 156 3.0 and it sounds wild!!
 
Void the warranty & have a shop remove one of the baffle-boxes on your exhaust. The one in the middle should do the trick.

Man are you serious? I got the same car here, but the 2.0 and it sounds awesome. That's the way italian cars sound my friend. Refined beautiful purr. Not the rough rumble of a mustang. My 2c = Leave it as it is...
