i have received a form in pdf format and it needs to be filled out. i am unable to type anything in the spaces provided. Do i need to print it out, fill it in, scan it then email it back or is there a simpler option ot making the form fillable on the pc?

Convert to Word document, you can use OmniPage to Convert the file.

I thought you need the full (pay) version to fill in forms? Adobe 8.1 can't do this as far as I can see.

There are freeware .pdf readers and editors that can type anything onto a pdf, they will work. Try Foxit or google for others.

I only have Acrobat Reader 8.1 and had no problem filling in a PDF fillable form.
However, I could not save the completed form. So, I had to fill it in, then print it.

use the following instruction to solve out your problem

  1. Convert to Word document, you can use OmniPage to Convert the file.
  2. Use acrobat writer
  3. print out the page and do typing if not lengthy...( last option)

:o

We did this the other day. Donwload the trial of Acrobat Pro 8, there is an option in the advanced menu, i think, to make forms savable in Acrobat Reader. Its not a small download though, and obviously you will only be able to use it for 30 days or so.

Our accounts lady at work used Reader 8.1.0 to do the whole SARS e-filing thing last year. I think she could only print the form afterwards, not save it.

PDF is cool but it sucks that many features are reserved for the pay versions only. Oh well

Good luck and hope something works out
