When I grew up in the townships, theft was called "making amends". If someone had more than me, I had the right to take what I needed.

"In Karl Marx's view, owning property is theft - this is the working-class mindset. In the middle classes, however, the view of property is different - I have bonded this property, it has cost me, and I will not share it.
What else should we know?

ANother stupid rant from some 2 bit writer that thinks the sun shines out his ass, because he is just soooo great.

Ummmmmm ... (lone little voice here) I think it is rather a good thought provoking article and very true!! You have to read the whole article otherwise it could be taken out of context, and it is just the writer's opinion.

I think the point is we get taught these values from birth - whereas many still need to learn them - or don't even know they exist (or worse - are alien to their culture.)
Having thought carefully about it, I realised that Mbeki was right - we can't hire only angels, because there are very few of them around.

We should, however, still aspire to become angels, accepting that there is a long way to go before we attain that, and know that we have it in our power to stay on top of that slippery slide and avoid having to claw back our sense of self- respect.
