African National Congress Youth League President Julius Malema said on Tuesday the organisation would accept a declaration of war from the South African Communist Party if it was offered.

He again lashed out at the SACP’s leadership, accusing the party of trying to impose undemocratic leaders on the country.

Malema said the treatment he received at the SACP’s conference was a planned tactic to throw down the gauntlet to the youth league, something he said would be accepted.

“It was an invitation to war and I knew this. We have to leave it to the youth league to decide whether they are accepting this invite to war. The youth league accepted the invite and we are not going to retreat,” said Malema.

Which one is it - are they deciding whether to accept it or have they accepted it already ?

So when is the slaughter happening? I hope before Christmas, that way we'll have a grand new year :)
 
With more than 50% of SA's population under the age of 22 and a good portion of that being followers or easily influenced by Malema I'd start worrying about the possible violence that could erupt.

Much as this provides some light entertainment, and little Juju is quite fun to watch (especially on ZANews), why would the rest of the country care at all? I cannot see that the majority of South African voters (who are, by definition, over 18, and hence several years more mature than little Juju) would have much time for these tantrums. Any bets that he'll be kicked out before he does too much damage in time for the next local government elections? This doesn't even rise to the level of politics, it's just childishness.

Can they do it at one of the new stadiums? Two bird with one stone sort of thing. Maybe banana-banana might win something next year, apart from the wooden spoon.

For sure, that way we don't have to have them slaughtering bulls :D
 
Only the Special Task Force has trained snipers. The are the ones called in to deal with hostage situations and stuff, unfortunately the normal cops aren't snipers.

Wish there were more STF members to go around.
 
ANC response

South Africa's ruling ANC threatened on Tuesday to discipline members who continue to stir conflict with its trade union and Communist Party allies, including firebrand youth leader Julius Malema.

Malema, head of the party's Youth League, clashed with South African Communist Party (SACP) members at a party congress over the weekend, sparking concern within the ANC that the alliance is fracturing.

Despite an ANC demand for the war of words to end, Malema renewed the attack on Tuesday. He said the Youth League was ready for "war" with the SACP and accused its members of being "greedy yellow communists" trying to take over the ANC, the party of Nelson Mandela that spearheaded the struggle against white majority rule.

Kgalema Motlanthe, deputy president of both the ANC and the country, said anyone defying a call for unity from the party's national executive committee -- its highest decision-making body would face sanctions and possibly suspension. "If anybody disregards this call, there will be consequences, very serious consequences," he said when asked about Malema's remarks. "Nobody defies the ANC and gets away with it."

The NEC, which includes Malema, resolved on Monday that the argument with the SACP should end. President Jacob Zuma also called for unity in the ruling alliance of the ANC, the communists and the union movement.

Malema has been one of the most vocal campaigners for a more leftist economic policy, demanding in particular the nationalisation of mines. Being disciplined could hurt the image of a man who appears to be lining himself up for high office.

Malema a blessing in disguise ?

Is it possible that the ANC have given Malema too much free reign and now they can't control him anymore ?

Hopefully he will also be the reason that the alliance will split.
 
The ANC will never let Malema cause a split or a war. They will toss his ass out of the party before they ever allow that.
