Rustenburg - Those in power must not abuse their office to benefit their friends and immediate family, ANC Youth League president Julius Malema said on Sunday.

"This democracy is not a democracy of families, this is a democracy of the people of this country... We cannot sit back while families enrich themselves in the name of freedom," Malema said at the launch of the ANCs 2011 election manifesto at the Royal Ba***eng Stadium in Rustenburg.

Reports have surfaced recently about lucrative mining deals entered into by President Jacob Zuma's son Duduzane and the Gupta family, from India.

Malema said nobody should abuse the country's minerals because they belonged to the people.

"This is our minerals... We must fight for them," he said, reiterating the ANCYL's support for nationalising the country's mines.

Malema also urged ANC members to vote for the party irrespective of whether they approved of the councillor it selected.

"Whether you like the face or not (of the councillor)... as long as next to that face is the emblem of the ANC, you must vote for that face," he said.

"We are failed by individuals, not by our organisation, the ANC."

Malema said people wanted councillors who would work for them.

"We don't want councillors that use surnames to hire people. We don't want councillors who use surnames to give RDP houses," he said.

:wtf: I wonder when the rat died in his head.

I wonder if the same applies to a White/Coloured/Indian face. After all according to him and his like minded cretins only Blacks can call themselves (South)Africans, it is after all the African National Congress.

The one and only reason he's said these things is because obviously the little fatboy was excluded this time. Also, there seems to be some sort of mechanism built into these guys' heads which kicks in when they've just stolen something or have been involved in some or other illegal dealing. They subsequently come along and preach to the public about said illegal activity (in a generic sense) and its danger-factor amongst politicians and how it isn't a good thing for South Africa as a whole. This somehow is meant to divert attention and gives the "preacher" a false sense of moral superiority for 5 minutes.

Basically, STFU, Malema.

OK so vote for the party not the individual.

"We are failed by individuals, not by our organisation, the ANC."
But you just said we shouldn't worry about the individuals... now you're saying individuals are the problem?

Malema interpretation : It's fine to be an tenderpreneur as long as the other person isn't family.

"We are failed by individuals, not by our organisation, the ANC."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

That's Mampara of the Year level material!

OK so vote for the party not the individual.

But you just said we shouldn't worry about the individuals... now you're saying individuals are the problem?

Amongst the myriad of things he fails to understand, is that, at local level, people very much vote for the person and not the party.

Somehow he evades logic at every turn.

Well look who got off the gravy train....

Even if what Malema does is stupid, naive, and deceptive, at least he's passionate about it. And no, that was not a compliment.
