Cape Town – Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema said security in Parliament “squeezed his balls” during the tussle to forcibly remove him from President Jacob Zuma's State of the Nation Address.

In a tweet on Friday afternoon, Malema posted a photo of security guards, dressed in white shirts, holding him.

“The bastard is squeezing my balls yeses, they always go for my balls this white shirts [sic],” the caption of the tweet reads.

“They do this all the time, hai. No retreat fighters,” Malema says.

National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete ordered security to remove the EFF after they repeatedly interrupted Zuma when he tried to start reading his speech. Shortly after, Democratic Alliance MPs walked out of the House.

People on social media offered support to the former African National Congress Youth League leader.

“We need to get you a ball box and into some defence training,” Fire-Starter (@RyanPaulJames89) said.

“I'm sure they had their hands full,” Cheslin Engel ‏(@the_dstrbd_one) said.

Mngadi (‏@makaPoky ) said it was a “ballsy situation”.

EFF MPs should be criminally probed for SONA - ANC in Parliament

Cape Town – The EFF’s actions during the State of the Nation Address were a “national shame”, ANC Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu said on Friday.

The party’s MPs responsible for damaging property during their violent eviction from the House on Thursday night should face charges, he told reporters.

“We condemn in the strongest terms the repulsive conduct of these EFF MPs and their supporters, whose intention was to collapse the most important sitting of the two Houses of Parliament, undermine the rights of South Africans, and to destroy the institution.”

Their behaviour warranted a criminal probe and a parliamentary investigation. They attacked Parliament’s security staff and damaged property as they left the National Assembly, Mthembu said.

He claimed that an EFF member or supporter released “teargas powder” in the public gallery, which forced some people to leave. Security footage would be reviewed to identify who was responsible.

'Grandstanding'

It was “shameful” that the DA used the deaths of the 94 Health Esidimeni patients for “political posturing”, he said.

The party should have consulted other parties on its attempt to have a minute’s silence for the mentally-ill patients who died after they were transferred to unlicensed NGOs in 2016.

The ANC in Parliament felt the families of the deceased should not have been made to witness their loved ones' deaths become part of “such disorderliness”.

Mthembu said there was no consultation with DA leader Mmusi Maimane over the moment’s silence, and if he said so, he was lying.

Mthembu said the ANC was alerted to the deployment of the SANDF to Parliament, despite multiple assurances that there would be no soldiers. Soldiers were not allowed on the precinct, and they would write to National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete to discuss this.

Mthembu said the ANC caucus welcomed Zuma's plan for “radical economic transformation”.

His speech demonstrated a willingness to change the South African economy so it would benefit all citizens.

Mthembu was pleased with the announcement that the R122 000 annual income threshold to qualify for the NSFAS would be reviewed. Parliament would do all it could to finalise the Expropriation Bill, which Zuma had sent back.

When they where asking Malema questions outside he said something that made me just lose it xD

They asked him : "Are you hurt? did yo get hurt?"

Malema: -looks at hand- "Yes I got hurt, I dont know how I would be able to hold a pen tomorrow"

You know, there are a lot of things I do not agree with the EFF. But I think they are the best thing tk have happened to SA. Even though they are small, they have given the ANC so much trouble. More than any other party has. And like he said, people what TV. The populus will look at the ANC's actions and the more they fight against the EFF and other parties the more footing they will lose.

Just after 18:00, the government’s Twitter profile was used to retweet the photo Malema had posted, and added the caption “hahahaha”.

The retweet was removed. At 18:31 the government tweeted an apology.

“We would like to deeply apologise for the previous retweet. It was a mistake. We reiterate that any form of violence is unacceptable.”

Government communications director Donald Liphoko told News24 that a junior official was under the impression that he was tweeting from his personal handle.

“He told me that he made an honest mistake,” Liphoko said.

He would discuss the matter with the official on Monday.

I think it could all be part of their 'master plan'. *cue dramatic music*
Making sure that they get thrown out and / or "attacked" by the anc. When election time comes around, they can show the footage and say something like, "We stand for the people and this is how the anc treats us. So this is how the anc treats 'the people'." Of course, he's not wrong, but it just seems like this is all being done to be used later on.
(At least they, the eff, can't be accused of being racist -by the anc- even though they are, of course.)
