Man builds gun, shoots self

Durban - A 22-year-old KwaZulu-Natal man built a homemade firearm at the weekend and used the weapon to kill himself, police said on Monday.

Police spokesperson Captain Khephu Ndlovu said the man had built the gun with a steel pipe at his Umlazi home on Saturday.

"The gun was seized and is now being kept at the police station," said Ndlovu.

The man then wrote a letter, locked his bedroom and apparently shot himself in the mouth.

An inquest docket has been opened.

The sad thing is, that these people clearly have a decent dose of practical manufacturing skills.

It's still high. Plus if the person survives then they are going to pay a fortune in med expenses because the liver is farked. Hell, people have survived suicide attempts with guns (E.g. shotgun blows face of but does not penetrate skull).

Suicide is sad whichever way they choose. If people think their lives are worthless, they should rather take up basejumping. Should be much more fun than brakefluids/whatever IMO.

That's not true, a bunch of Afrikaans cops I know in Newlands have a vagrant that hangs around there, so when they're all drinking on the weekend they offer the bum a beer but mix it with brake fluid! He gets smashed!

Actually if you can get a hold of some Potassium Cyanide, it's probably the least painful way to go. A teaspoon of that and you'd be comatose within 30 seconds and dead within a minute. Anyway I'm not giving any of you hints, and good luck getting hold of it anyway
