Man loses car on N2 after breaking down

DURBAN North SAPS are looking for a number of suspects who allegedly towed a broken down vehicle from the N2 near the Sibaya off-ramp at the weekend. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the victim had broken down, and walked to the nearest service station to get petrol only to return to find his car was stolen.

“We think his vehicle, a blue Golf may have been towed by the thieves. He broke down on the N2 going north just after the Sibaya off-ramp. It is believed he ran out of petrol and decided to go and fetch some. However, when he came back his vehicle had been stolen

My friend suffered a similar incident.

His VW Deco was towed from his work place. This was a while ago when Jozi was relatively safer. His company security guards believed it was a legitimate roadside assistance call. The guy was depressed for weeks because he had worked so hard for his first car.

I'd agree with that one. As a kid on my uncle's farm - We'd wait downwind when they burned a field, with .22 rifles, and sell our kills to the farmworkers. We're talking rats the size of poodles, and the snakes! No way you'd get me in a sugarcane field.
