Man throws dog off bridge

A motorist has told Eyewitness News how she saw a dog being thrown from a bridge onto the N2 highway.

This comes as the world marks International Love Your Pet day.
It’s unclear whether the dog was hurt in the incident.

Motorist, Marianna Kemp says she saw a man grab the pet by its leash and throw it from a bridge overlooking the N2 near Epping.
“The dog landed between our van and a big, massive bus. [It landed] On its back and I don’t know if somebody drove over it, I don’t know if somebody rescued it. I absolutely feel sick to my stomach, both my husband and myself.”

Epping is nowhere near the N2. I can however confirm I saw a huge pile of road kill this morning on the N2 somewhere between Airport approach road and Borchard's quarry on the income lane.

Must have been a big dog but there was no resemblance of any animal. Just a huge pile of mush. Not a pretty sight.

That's almost a daily occurance on the N2. Lots of stray's from Nyanga, Khayaleithsia, Gugs and Macassar on that stretch.

What stood out for me this morning was that it was in the middle of the centre lane. Normally its closer to the edge of the road on either side.
