Mandela keeps opinions to himself

It never ceases to amaze me where you find all this stuff!

But yes, it is a crying shame that he is no longer our moral compass.

As a president Mandela was pretty junk. Morally he was tops
As a president Mbeki is great. Morally he could do with some help from Mandela

guys we all know that since mandela left things have well gone downhill

he is still alive which is keeping us safe

the day that man dies, we are in da kuk :)

You're a cool killadoob, but I totally disagree with you, why would we be unsafe when he dies? That's such a typical load of trash. We will be safe, no matter who lives and dies. This country needs "us" people. What would they do without us? Playing cops and robbers with a rooibok probably ;)

Perhaps our government told him to shutup or leave aswell...

killadoob : I have to disagree with you here. Since he left office, the economy has been doing better (although that has little to do with who is president. It was a long term strategy), streets are cleaner, people all seem to be richer (although that tends to happen over time anyway), building are being built everywhere, there is a much better police visibiity which makes me feel much safer (Although this is probably not true in poorer areas), SA has much greater political clout in the international community, and much more

Let the old man rest, he has served the country to best of his ability. It seems people still didn't get it when he said "Don't call me I'll call you" during a birthday celebration few years ago.

Leave the oke alone man. He spent 27 years in jail because of politics, I think his rest period is well-deserved, whether forced or not.

Nelson Mandela is not a commodity, he is a great human being who has served the world well. People should stop trying to get a piece of him.

He was a great statesman in his time, but now I think he should be left alone. I think he is trundled out far too often to support some scheme or other. It might weaken his 'brand' if it's done to death.
