After trying so many other Linux distro's, I finally came back to the one that started it all for me: Mandriva. The 2009.1 edition is rather stunning overall. It's fast, even in a VM, looks pretty, and it even auto installs VBox Guest Additions when it detects that it is in a VM. That impressed me no end...
However, my question is this. How can I install the Additions from version 3 of VBox? VBox 3 was just released a few days ago. I tried installing it the same way I always have on other distro's, and the installer stopped working. Looking at the log file, it seems that it can't build a kernel test module so it doesn't go further. Could it be that since Mandriva auto installs an older version of the Additions that the new version won't work?
Being a rather non technical Linux user, I'm confused. Should I try to upgrade the additions using updates through the package manager, or uninstall what's already installed and try the new additions? I would appreciate some help from the guru's out there.
Thanks
