The search for the well known television actor accused of sexually assaulting his daughter is continuing, with police still unable to determine where he is.

The man, who allegedly raped his four year old daughter in a hotel room in Sandton, was supposed to appear at the Wynberg Magistrate Court on Tuesday, but failed to arrive. He was granted bail last month, and was expected to appear in Tuesday morning at the court after police requested a postponement for further investigation. However, neither the actor nor his legal representation arrived, with the court retracting his bail and issuing a warrant of arrest. According to police spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, police had only started the search for the actor on Tuesday afternoon, but 24 hours later, he had still not been found.

Police have already visited the home of the star. “We’ll be visiting numerous addresses related to him, but so far, he has not been found,” said Dlamini.

The actor, who has appeared in numerous television shows and advertisements on South African screens, had allegedly raped his daughter on Christmas Day at the Garden Court hotel, where he had booked in with his wife and two children.

He was arrested in Germiston on January 2, where the matter was transferred to the Sandton police station.

A TV actor accused of raping his four-year-old daughter on Christmas Day has jumped bail and is on the run.

He was to have appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court in Alexandra on Tuesday, but the middle-aged actor did not turn up, and nor did his lawyer.

He forfeited his bail, and the court issued a warrant of arrest.

Police started searching for the actor on Tuesday afternoon, police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini

However, by Tuesday evening, the accused, who can not be identified to protect the identity of his daughter, had not been found.

His attorney could also not be reached.

Still the dude definitely is innocent until proven guilty. If he did indeed commit the crime then it is disgusting. I can only imagine the damage an act like that would do to that little girl psychologically.
