So i was just driving back to work, when this hooligan in a company bakkie just about takes me off the road..... He was driving like a complete moron...

I got the name of the company and registration number... is it worthwhile to phone the company or just leave it ?

Do you guys report bad driving ?

anyway

Cheers

Honestly if it was my driver I would want to know.

Just remember that the person you are speaking to was not the driver of the vehicle, nor is he/she your stressball. Don't take your frustrations out on them.
When you start shouting it takes weight away from your argument and you sound like a dick. Be calm and tell the person in charge of the driver exactly what happened.

@madman88 - Good point, i'll keep it straight and to the point. i just wanna tell the owner / fleet manager whats going on. It's not like the company is transporting human tissue for transplant / blood specimens etc that REALLY needs to be delivered ASAP...... But i suppose if the driver drives like that he probably gets a lot of fines, so they know about... But that wouldnt make sense to then not punish the driver...

Yup. Phone them. It's the right thing to do.

edit

Just to reiterate: keep emotions out of it, and give them a factual account of what happened.

Yea and only phone if he actually drove badly, so many people moan about people cutting in front of them or jumping in front of them.

Far too many moaners but for someone driving like you described phone them for sure. Reporting it on hellopeter seems harsh if you ask me. First see the reaction by the company and decide from there.

I don't agree with that. Any organisation who employ drivers have a social responsibility to make sure their drivers behave and take responsibility for their actions. Failing that, they should be named and shamed, if only to server as a deterrent for the future. It is one thing to say "I want my drivers to behave", it is quite a different story to make sure they do.

Yeah you would be perfectly justified in doing a hellopeter. Phoning them first would be a courtesy.

Please let us know what happens when you call them. More than likely you will get through to the boss, who was the one driving like a twit!

How would you ensure that it does not happen again, or that the driver is held accountable?

It's one thing for the company to say that they'll look into the issue and reprimand the driver, but how do you actually know that they will go through with it? It then sets a precedent that every other company just has to be nice to the complainant and the problem will go away.

Report it, he put your life in danger by driving like a maniac

To me, since the way HelloPeter works is to make you pay to respond to complaints, it should only be the answer if you do not get results dealing directly with the company.
