Mantech Security Systems

Hi guys,

ManTech Security was invited to quote for security needs for an existing client in Constantia. My partner, Gareth went to assist the client with whom he already had a relationship.

The need:
CCTV
Upgrade Paradox MG5050 Alarm
Some automation - view CCTV on cellular phone. Access gate remotely

We then responded with a quotation on the same day which includes the following;
3X Takex 180 beams
2X Paradox NV35 curtain beams
2X Galvanized poles for camera and camera
1X Sherlo TX RX for gate
Provision 16Ch DVR and related equipment
8X Balun sets
7x 2MP Provision bullets
1x 2MP Provision varifocal
1X 24" Hisense LED TV
TV Bracket
10M Extension Lead
10M HDMI cable
1X 16Ch Automation controller (i can reveal the name once i finally send in the application forms)

We went in with a very decent labour rate to secure the job which the client acknowledged without us pointing it out. The key is so that we can get a few systems into the market for reference points. Also to understand how they work and start messing around.
Loving the passion here guys. Keep up the good work!

Another CCTV job by ManTech Security
Pictures will follow but details follow. It's for the same client as the workshop above however, this is his home installation. Again, he supplied his own equipment as follows;
8CH + 2IP Paravision DVR - specs to follow
8 X Paravision 5MP varifocal autozoom bullets, 2.8-12mm (Supplier over sold him here-oh well)
2 X Paravision 5MP IP varifocal autozoom bullets, 2.8-12mm
POE switch - Not sure of specs as the client later decided that a 16CH unit would be better - Due to no stock at the supplier, we stuck to the 8CH and connecting 2X IP cameras. Only collecting these tomorrow.
9 Way, 9A PSU
Folksafe baluns
305M Cat5e UTP cable
2X wireless mouse with extenders
32in Hisense LED TV
HDMI over CAT5 extender with splitter
The house is rather large(4 storeys), so i look forward to see how Paravision will fair against others. The only issue with these comparisons is that i don't have any references for these conditions.
We'll probably finish tomorrow after which i will ad some photos of the installation/workmanship and take a few day time and night time pictures to see what the quality looks like. 3 X cameras will be facing into and down the street which i advised against due to illegalities but the client insisted... I'll be sure to mention this in my job notes.

Hi' I am looking for a good video intercom system. Which would you suggest and what would the approximate cost be?

Hi, there are quite a few options on the market so budget depending...
Hikvision IP door station
Dahua IP door station
Wibell if you want to use your cellphone
Aiphone - I think you can add more cameras to this unit but no recording.
Kocom
Commax
I need to confirm pricing as I don’t sell these all the time. Let me know if you want accurate pricing but I think around R2500-R3000

What would you guys recommend for outside cameras on a flat roof house, so difficult to do any sort of cabling?

Also due to the odd shape of the house, probably looking at 10+ cameras.

Hi buddy, for this application, I would recommend a balun setup with cat5e cable or cat6 if you want to spend a little more. They have 8 cables inside so you could look at running 2 cameras per single cable run. We try to run them just under the gutter or below the facia/barge boards inside conduit. Every situation is different of course.

Thank you for the feedback. Do you have a link where I can check the specs?

Hi bud, I see I am misleading you.‍♂️ Sorry about that. The commax and kocom will be around that price. The top 3 options I’m not too sure about. Hikvision and dahua should be around the R4000-5000 mark.
Having said that, the kocom and commax are very popular and reliable units. I can get the part numbers in the morning. I only really do this when part of a whole package. Not that I say no to supplying this only, it’s just that I put more energy into promoting alarms and cctv products.

Check out the HikVision IP Intercom options. They have an HD camera and can ring to your phone as well as indoor touch screen panels with other handy features... Very well priced as well! Also, if you have HikVision cameras around the property, the Intercom can be pulled into the Recording unit as another camera...

Thanks, I'll look into it - only planned for late next year when I find money.

The good news is in a couple of years you'll look back and think "hey that wasn't so bad..."
But then you’ll still be stuck with the carrier of the problem at hand who in most cases is an expert accountant and knows exactly how to keep the books balanced at zero.
All jokes aside, they are worth it.
Have a good one

Do you have a link for this? Google throws up too many different results.

I think he’s talking about this unit; ds-kv8202 outdoor station (you get a 8102 as well for single button) and the ds-kh6310 indoor screen
Would i need to run a cat 5 cable to my gate? That could be very difficult.

If you have power at the gate (which I assume you do to power a gate motor) you could always use PoE Injectors and Ubiquiti Point to Point Wireless Nanobeams which would mean you didn't need a cable trenched all the way down the driveway.

Almost 3 years later.
What Hikvision intercom kits do you have that can hook up to my NVR?
