Hey

How do you change the router to dial up automatically instead of having to initiate a connection manually from a dial up icon. using 4 port marconi router that telkom supplies.

Thanks

nailed

when you setup the connection is there not an option to use a "nailed" connection, this allows the router to redial once down.

You must set the router up in "Bridge Mode"

See: WAN Settings with Bridge Off for the settings to use - Make sure you delete all the PPP configuration's first before editing WAN settings. Hope this helps.

It can all be configured from the WAN configuration using the browser administration tool. Press SUBMIT on the Select Adapter screen and you will then get a screen with the selected adapter configuration. Look at the PPP configuration pane

Connect Automatically

Remember to tick the little box at the bootom of the settings pages on the router conection setup . This had me baffled for a long time. My modem kept on disconnecting

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the router do the dialup as soon as its switched on? Unless you're looking for a different config.

I have mine connected to my home ethernet switch and assigned a LAN IP to the router. All works well.
