I updated the F/W on my premium combo and since then haven't been able to get the wireless to work.

Any ideas?

Hey,

I also had trouble with wireless on mine.

Here is my setup:

Just have a ESSID name in there.

My 2nd pc connecting to the router has a pci netgear card in it in the next room. Signal strength is poor and it's only 3m away with one wall. It didn't work with the netgear software either. I had to reinstall the pci card and just use the windows software.

Also change the default channel to see which one gets stronger signal. "B only" means stronger signal with lower speed. The one to use if you have signal problems. The wireless range is really pathetic on this router and what makes it worse is that the antenna can not be replaced with a higher gain unit like it can be on other routers (even the mega)

I read somewhere that V2 was meant to improve the wireless range. don't want to know what it was like before.

I still dont know how you people can get this thing to work, mine just absolutely refuses to give an ip to the wireless network card, if I use the normal ethernet port with cable its working fine. But as soon as i switch to wireless, it gets stuck on "acquiring network address" and then just times out.

Thought this flippen thing was suppose to be "plug and play"

I had the exact same problem, thought I had the right settings but it didn't work, so I gave up for a few days. When I came back a few days later to try sort it out it was already connected. Very strange, so i didn't fiddle with the wireless settings again. Try maybe restarting the router and the pc.

Have tried it...jumped on it, shouted at it, stroked it, whispered in its ear, offered it money. switched it off, reset it and completely unplugged it for days on end.

But every time I try, I get the same thing. First I thought it was maybe my screwed up wireless network card, so I tried it with my cell (which is wireless) and also with my laptop. All of them have the same message :"Awaiting network address" and then time out

WOOHOO!!!!

Its finally working!!!

I want to flippen kick myself, it was so easy to fix (although I did have to phone marconi).

The problem is the WPA key, according to marconi, some machines have a problem with the ":" in the WPA key, and that is why its not connecting. They dont know why.

So , just changed the WPA key, and viola!!

Still not workin :'(

Have tried changing the WPA key without the ':' on the routers web interface and on my laptop but still no go... could it be my wireless nic?

I get the same problem as Gothan. The Wireless works great without the WPA key enabled but it just wont connect nomatter what i change it to....... i'm at my wits end as some dope in my neighbourhood is laughing it up using all my cap for the month...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated guys

Hi, I had the same problem when I first got my Premium Combo, I changed my WPA key, has worked like a bomb since then. Ok so maybe its going to explode soon but its working now:D

After much deliberation I also discovered that the firmware update creates so much trouble on wireless - I downgraded to the factory released firmware and it's working 100 % better. I wish I discovered this thread earlier. I hope marconi will sometime consider fixing the issue. I have a intel pro wireless adapter in my HP Nx7400 Laptop.

When I used the laptop close to the router (in the same room) it had no issue, but after moving to another room (signal strength still full) - I was unable to get any stable connection; it kept on dropping.

Anyhow, restoring to the factory firmware, made a significant improvement, it is however not yet perfect, but it works stable now!
