Marconi service??

My WI FI 4 port router went cranky on Thursday last week. I phoned Marconi on Friday and after holding on for 45 minutes, the "techi" promised me he will e-mail the firmware to me.

When I phoned later in the afternoon he said his server blocked the zip file. He tried to send it through his GMAIL account but "apparently" was also blocked. He then tried to embed the zip file in word and send this. When I try to open this I only get CRC errors.

I'm still without the promissed firmware file and a have a non-working router at home.

Why not download the firmware?
might be a bit easier.

If thats the Marconi Premium Combo Wi-Fi 4 port router then the firmware is on their site as I downloaded it a few weeks ago.

Just an update.

Marconi eventually mailed me the firmware. It loaded 100% and said complete. Did a restart as requested. Boom, modem completely unusable. Cannot get in VIA FTP anymore, wireless and ADSL not working. It can only funcyion as a "dumb" network hub.

Took it to Helkom on Friday(Under guarantee - Contract) they replaced it with a ZyXel P2602.

They say that because I have a 2 year contract the modem is covered for the full 2 years.

Now I'm up and running again.
