Hi, just got my ADSL about 1 hour ago. The hardware people work on Sundays, but the new account people dont (TELKOM and MWEB) so I'll have to wait till monday. Anyway, was going through the (very badly written) manual and was stumped on how to configre the router through HTTP or telnet. The manual seems to go to extreme detail regarding the process for windows XP users but not WIN2000 PRO. Anywhere that I can go an look? What is the techie suppose to do ? (i.e just install the hardware/ install hardware and drivers? / install hardware, drives and configure?

Help appreciated.

Configure your network adapter for DHCP (all settings automatic, I'm using an XP machine, so don't recall the wording in Win2000).

Enter into your browser: http://192.168.10.200

Change the password right away. Disable Telnet.

You can enter your username and password into the router so that you don't need to use PPPOE software on Windows if you want. That should get you started.

Hi Gusbin,

I sent you an email,
Hope it helps

Cheers
Chris

Thanks a mill for the extensive email you sent caroper!
Everything working 100% now, must still hook up the firewall etc.
Eventually I want to reinstate my linux box, and get online with it, and use it to share the connection with the two windows boxes.
Youll probably see me begging for answers on some of the onther forums, but thanks again, you've been great.
