Marijuana and anesthetic

oh, maybe i should have included, I did tell the anesthetist(if thats how its spelled, so zonked out of it right now from all the meds) about my smoking and he said it is fine, he said smoking cigarettes is more dangerous and people do that all the way up till a few minutes before the OP and straight after. So have what ever opinion you want I went with the opinion of my anesthetist and feel the op went very well and the weed had no effect, If anything having a bong settled my head a little and made me feel more relaxed so take it how you will but I still feel smoking MJ is better than staying clean and has helped more with relaxing.

Just tell the doc when you smoked a joint. Not like he will really care. :erm:

This is the best advice. Tell your Drs you smoke so they can deal with it, they arent police officers and they require the truth so they can do their job correctly. GA is a difficult thing, I cant even tell you how many times it goes wrong and when the patient wakes up they like "nah it went fine" lol.

It shouldnt be a problem but you need to remember weed affects the CNS and anaesthetics affect the CNS so there are going to be interactions. Dont take this situation lightly no one can give you advice here. Anaesthetics are tailored per patient per case so its always a unique scenario
