Wtf are the History Channel trying to do with their 'documentary' about the 'Great Martian War' fused with WW1?

I'm not getting it.

It is primarily a standard entertainment channel now. They're trying to spice up 'history' to boost ratings by attracting airheads more inclined to watch Idols than informative historical documentaries because they lack the prerequisite attention span

Yes, spot on, It was always my first choice channel but now I'm quite confused about the direction it is headed.

Hot shots, swamp men, ax men, storage schite, wtf???? How about some errrrr, history ffs?

And now we get history and it's so left field I haven't got a cooking clue what is going on!!!!

Good grief, history = history. It's not hard.

You've hit the nail on the head.
I enjoy Storage Wars and American Restoration and a couple others, but I do wonder WTF have they got to do with History

That's because The History Channel changed ownership some years ago. It was bought by A&E and Disney, who turned it into a Reality TV channel. 99% crap now.

Same as TLC and MTV very little to do with what they were originally there for. Heard sci-fi went the same way when it's name became sy-fy

Of course there was a great Martian war .. it was all told in the documentary 'John Carter on Barsoom'

yeah the x files showed that in season 4 of their documentary about how the martians kidnapped mulders daughter as leverage
