Has anyone used Market Enabler in a country where you can't buy paid apps and used it successfully?

I can browse the paid apps now in several countries (thanks Elimentals), but when I'm trying to buy Swiftkey X which is half price this weekend, I keep getting error messages. Apparently the messages are consistent with trying to buy in an unauthorised country.

So I try a free app, no problem, but then I try another random paid app, and 'computer says no'.

I even tried it over my offices satellite connection in my laptop browser which shows my IP address as in Belgium (I'm in Chad) pair though Bluetooth but no luck again. Tried it this way with and without Market Enabler.

Then I connected my S2 directly to the wi-fi and same again.

Now I'm wondering, with all of the location finding stuff turned off on my phone, is my location still being pin pointed somehow? Is that possible?

I use to use Enabler ages ago when SA had no Paid support, will have to check if anything has changed but I did not have to block gps or anything.

But a quick Google gave me http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...-getting-paid-apps-unsupported-countries.html

Check if it work, if it doesnt I can install it again and see if something changed.

That did the trick. I've tried a few different methods that I came across this morning but it looks like putting the phone into flight mode is the key. Makes perfect sense I guess. So I'm now downloading Swiftkey X at a discount and the money I saved will gladly go towards buying you a beer if the opportunity ever arises :D

Thanks dude.

The enabler will stop working soon, the new market 3 which is an optional download for everyone but is the standard as of ICS does not support the enabler, it uses other method to check your country.

My market is 3.3.11 and works with Market Enabler.

So is mine. But as above, I had to uninstall it and do the flight mode thing to get ME to work.

I'd imagine that if ICS comes with 3 as stock then that won't be an option anymore???

To clarify, I could browse the paid apps but could not purchase using ME and was only able to purchase when I used the method mentioned above over wi-fi only..

Edited several times due to my inability to make myself clear...
