Telkom remains one of the strongest leading brands in SA. In the latest Markinor/Sunday Times Top Brands survey, it was rated tops in the telecommunications providers category, second among companies that have done the most community upliftment work, and retained its position as the second most admired brand after Coca-Cola." I wouldn't believe that for a split second. The methods seem dubious, especially seeing as the ADSL survey said almost 90% of users were happy with it.

Thing is one doesn't know what questions are asked to the target audience - if we knew that this wouldn't be so one sided, and as it is Markinor's surveys don't appear objective at all due to the secrecy of questions asked in relation to the relevant surveys. I hate flaming companies but people need to know what the questions were.

Nothing a decent size retainer can't take care of with regards to surveys by these guys. Maybe u should ask them to do a survey about your site MAD and give them the questions they must ask telskum staff.

Should be interesting!

Also for a decent sample they need to take completely unrelated "types" of people. Ask a whole lot of people from one "group" is pretty much gonna give you the same answer!

..- dot dot dash ;)

Markinor is a load of bull****

they are just a PR machine that pretends to do surveys and pimps a company with bull**** stats that they pulled out their ass.

OMG [:D]

I will never ever believe anything Markinor has to say in my life after that ADSL Survey. That was the biggest load of nonsense ever.
To date, MYADSL after asking nicely for a copy of the Survey has got nothing. In actual fact what has Telkom offered to us besides talk? Talk is cheap.

I wonder what Telkom's Bill was for that survey. I know that is suggestive, but when it is very plain to all and sundry that Telkom are a bunch of Corporate Crooks preying on the SA Public's Pocket, any statistics posted from them can only be biased in their favour.
I think with enough manipulation of statistics you can twist any given situation around. Besides was their even mention in that survey whether the ADSL Customers were happy with the pricing model. And what Market Research that’s worth its soap fails to include pricing comparisons in their statistics.
There is so much evidence available that suggests that ADSL is Completely Overpriced. So much Independent Research like George Rahr of NUS Consulting which points to the bigger picture.

Two Thumbs Down to Markinor IMO.

Markinor should do some surveys for the tobacco companies. I'm sure they pay just as well as Telkom. When the survey is complete we'll here that smoking is actually good for you and that it has health benefits.

I'll stick with this quote: "Statistics are like a bikini, it's not what they reveal but what they hide that is of interest".
