The end mission (Omega 4 Relay) has some nice set pieces and a few of your crew dont make it... It seems unavoidable...

However, going to the mission with all other missions finished and your crew loyalty assured and the best fits for your crew, makes the ending that much more epic...

awesome... can't read this thread anymore though

'cause i'm sure someone will spoil!

You CAN get them all out alive...

It's a question of proper team selection and choosing the right person to do all the tasks... leader, pipes, survivors etc etc.

You also gotta be buddy buddy with EVERYONE to make sure they don't randomly killed...
That game was EPIC!

many different endings... awesome story... EPIC to the MAX! Can't wait for ME3

I lost Garrus first time :( Managed to get everyone out alive in my other playthroughs though :)

I lost Miranda first time. She's too hot to die dag nabbit

I just started Mass Effect 1 again on Insanity difficulty, going to play through so I can import into ME2 and hopefully be done just in time for ME 3 :) Glad I'm not the only one who still loves this classic series!

It is possible to get everyone out alive. You have to do all the ship upgrades (armour, canon, health bay etc.), and choose the right squad member for the right tasks in the final mission. To unblock the pipes, you need somebody with tech skills, so I usually send Tali or Mordin. To escort the crew members back to the ship I usually send Jacob. To lead the other team, you need somebody with leadership skills, so I usually choose Garrus (although you can choose Miranda as well).

Before all that, you'll also need to make sure that everyone is loyal so do their loyalty missions. Be sure to have enough Paragon or Renegade points to be able to diffuse the fight between Miranda and Jack because if you choose one, then you'll lose the loyalty of the other.

Did a ME1 playthrough a few months back. It's still awesome after almost 4 years.

Ahhh I replayed the end so i could get them all alive (want a nice start to me3:D)

unfortunately out of curiousity i decided to save the colletor ship and then afterwards everyone tells you it was a bad idea:(... it also felt much better to tell the illusive man fsck off rather then suck up-_-

super epic: killed the "boss" with that nuke gun!:D

now gotta replay as a chick on insanity and get in a lesbian relationship with Samara's evil daughter:twisted::D:twisted::D

Did anyone go the mostly renegade route during their first play? And I think 2's better than 1 but does anyone miss anything from ME1? I REALLY WANNA PLAY THAT SHADOW BROKER DLC(legally)!

I lost Garrus, so I'm busy replaying it because he's the only cool person on my crew. Would anybody care to tell me how to get him, Grunt and Legion out alive. Miranda and Jacob should die, I hate those two fools, and the rest I'm pretty meh about. I just want Garrus, Grunt and Legion.

I lost Tali and Jack because they weren't loyal, because of my choices. Tali was an ungrateful b*tch.
I nailed Miranda before the final mission :D
And I saved the collector facility.

I haven't played ME1, I think I'll get a hold of it.

:O

I loved (and hated) how my actions in ME1 directly affected game-play in ME2. I saved everyone in the Relay 4 mission, but man they busted my chops for killing off the council in #1 and saving the universe.

ME3's going to be epique!

If I remember correctly, Garrus should be selected as the leader of your "B" team and just don't select Legion to do anything but hang out with one of the teams. You can send Grunt to take the survivors back to the ship and he'll survive.

I'm assuming you've done all their loyalty missions here.

You know it's funny 'cause I don't remember killing the council or leaving them to die or whatever, I was too caught up in the fight with Saren to care. When I played 2 I was thinking why the hell did I kill the council... now this jackass human from the first game (who is more of a diKc then the Illusive man and since the first game I've been dying to shoot him) is in charge and then you gotta listen to everyone piss on humans for taking over (which you gotta admit is unfair).

I'm glad Garrus got all badass with that archangel stuff in 2... because compared to Saren and the Spectre at the beginning of the first game he wasn't the best the turians had to offer.

Grunt's awesome but because of his lack of history I think Wrex is better; his stories were awesome... but in 2 the characters really didn't talk much compared to 1.

I still don't know how you guys manage to get people killed. It's all about ensuring that your ship has all the upgrades, and you select the correct squad mates for the right tasks in the last mission. All squad mates should also be loyal. Garrus leads team B, send Legion/Tali into the pipes, choose two squad mates to fight alongside you, send Jacob back to the ship, choose Samara to create the biotic force field.

Yeah Udina's an ass, I always saved the council and chose Anderson to represent humanity on the council. It's awesome 'cos in ME2, Udina comes in and starts yapping on about waiting for him, and Anderson tunes him to get back to his desk.

Udina, that's the one! The Citadel just didn't feel like the political hub of the universe in the second game... and Spectres weren't mentioned much either, I hope they're "brought back" in the 3rd game.
