Your doing it wrong.

PS3 + Gaming PC = Now you get to play PS3 Exclusives and MOST 360 games that also gets released on the PC, like Mass Effect.

Why would wanna play all those inferior multiplatform games on PS3? Yes the differences aren't a biggy for most people, but the fact remains.

Source: Countless of comparisons done by DigitalFoundry.

Never played Mass Effect!

Whats the game about? Is it good?

IMO its frikkin awesome. cant put why i like this game into words but, it's got a gripping storyline.
[useless reference scale] the uncharted series is/was awesome - i like mass effect more. [/useless reference scale]

It's rather silly playing Mass Effect 2 if you haven't played #1 yet.

I got both for Xbox recently and started playin #2 first. After a few minutes I stopped and started playing #1 instead. The story will make absolutely no sense otherwise.

The coolest thing is I could import my character (and his choices) from ME1 into ME2 and continued playing with the consequences of my decisions in #1. I'm busy playing #2 now and I can see what all the hype is about, but I still love #1 more.

I've seen complaints about the Windows ports too.

Great news for PS3 owners - now they too can enjoy the awesomeness that is ME2. 96% on Metacritic doesn't lie.

AlthoughI don't see the point of porting ME2 without doing ME1 first. Not only do you lose a bit in the story, but you won't be able to import your ME1 character and the decisions you made in the first game. That was a big part of the experience for me.

ME1 was brilliant in it's own right, but it didn't capture the atmosphere as well as ME2 does - you'll see what I mean when you get to the final mission where the soundtrack and pace of the mission makes you feel as though you're playing out a movie.

Also, the combat in ME1 was a bit finicky, whereas ME2 plays a lot more like Gears of War.

if theyre not going to port ME1 (which i suspected they would never do, since its published by microsoft game studios right?), then they should at least give you a quick cutscene synopsis of ME1 and your choices for ME1, when you start ME2 (ie what happens to Kaiden/Ashley, what happened to the council; Wrex; on Noveria; your love interest etc.) Cant wait for the playable Liara DLC coming soon - something-or-other about the shadow broker.

but the choices have no meaning if you haven't played ME1, its just like ticking a checklist then
