Massive changes on the cards for Gauteng schools

Wow this just takes it further down, they're already forced to take unvaccinated kids, kids who aren't paying and now they're going to be forced even further.
Yet the ANC hasn't actually built a new school in 24 years, from planning to completion, I know they've finished some that were planned from before they took over. Like the one high school in my area, it was planned before I was supposed to go to High school was only completed when I'd finished high school almost 8 years previously.
There are two primary schools that were supposed to be built, both just empty land.
 
This just annoys the heck out of me. Admission tests to be scrapped. What about schools like national schools of arts and Pro Arte Alphen Park, these are specialty schools that requires some sort of skills to be able to succeed, especially is music and art, and even to some extend dancing. Scrapping admission tests is asking for trouble, which means you end up with a bunch of kids who don't have an artistic bone in their body.
 
It's scary. Our education departments really seem to believe that just attending a school is a guarantee of being educated. Like there's some kind of osmosis process, and no need for any hard work, dedicated teachers, stringent assessment standards....
My wife is teaching a couple of kids extra maths at the moment. The kids are failing. They're not stupid. The teachers just don't have the time to spend that extra couple of minutes per kid to reinforce/explain a concept - and then that foundation is shaky for the rest of the kid's school career and they're ****ed come grade 10.

How long was it in planning for? I have seen that apparently they are building 10 schools a year in Gauteng, where I'm not sure as there are areas that have no schools at all and are relying on Private schools.
 
The ANC and their decolonization of the education system in this country is right on track. Our matriculants aren't going to be worth ****!

I have no idea when the planning started. I saw it going up and being opened. But a new school was built and opened so the situation is not as bad in our area.
 
Right, because being last in the world isn't low enough by far for the ANC..

Then again my area has had hundreds of complexes pop up in the last ten years and the muncipality is still treating it like it's some backwater area. Even though the house I'm living in was built in 1985, there are no public schools, the electricity grid is unstable and Telkom barely had infrastructure in the area.
 
Actually this isnt a big deal

Most schools and workplaces may not discriminate an thats been like that since I was in school. So nothing new.

Basically if the school isnt private but the land is owned by the government and or the teacher salaries paid by the government. Let alome the rates rebates etc. Then practically they must listen to their bosses. In this case the education dept and the government. If you dont like the rules, buy your own land. Pay the full property rates, pay your teacher salary and you can choose who you want to admit.

You cant want all the benefits from your bosses but dont want to adhere to their rules.

Sorry for all thats complaining but when the kids are older they will discover the corporate environment is more vicious. Then based on your role, you can or cannot have a laptop for work. You may have an office or not. You may sit close to a window or not. You may have a mac or not. You may get parking close to the building or have to pay for your own parking. Yes the new rules may suck but at least it prepares for whats afterwards.

What would be nice if they remove the janitors from the schools and the kids have to clean the classes themself. And learn to grow and cook th food themself. And dish for one another. Then help clean afterwards. Oh wait too many will complain. But thats schools in Asia. No wonder they kick us economy wise.

And oh you cant eat there when walking or you will make the road messy. And you must take ure kfc container home to recycle.

We have a lot to learn about respect. And frankly it starts with the parents.

But will we ever do it? I doubt it. Rather complain right?
