Something that is worrying me. When I use the News24 election maps it appears the DA is shrinking in support, when obviously the truth is otherwise. No wins in the Northern Cape and far fewer areas in the Western Cape.
A quick check between 2009 and 2004 elections shows that very few demarcations were changed between those elections, with mass changes happening this year.
Is this obvious gerrymandering in the build up to the 2016 local elections to ensure far more areas fall under ANC control, despite having lost support? Should we not be concerned about this trend of being denied popular representation in the places we live?
