So I bank at Capitec, and I have a Master Card Debit Card with the internet payment service enabled.

If I want to use it at a shop, I need a pin. If I want to pay for goods online and the site supports SecureCode, I need to enter a SecureCode. But if I wan't to use it with a site that doesn't support SecureCode, apparantly like Steam, I only need the card?

Is this how it is supposed to work? I mean, I was under the impression that if I lost my card, the thief or finder thereof would not be able to use it, or at least not until I notice and cancel it. Am I mistaken?

EDIT: Don't know if there is a more appropriate section to post this, so please move if necessary.

If you lose it and a thief picks it up, then yes, they can buy on some sites that don't use SecureCode,

International websites don't use SecureCode. I suggest having another account(savings pocket) keep your money there then transfer to your card when you need it.

Not just the debit card. Steam doesn't bother with securecode either for credit cards.

or use VC Pay for credit card payments, be it local or international

You should be using Paypal where you can.
