Need to do an EFT in a bit, but I am a bit skeptical.
Will make the EFT using my credit card.
If the deal falls through, can I reverse the charges?

Nedbank wouldn't let me reverse an EFT I'd done from my CC account (Visa/Amex). If it's been a direct payment they could have reversed it, but not if it's an EFT.

If you are skeptical, it is for a good reason. Don't do it. Reversals rarely are granted. Why are you skeptical etc etc etc...?

I'm always skeptical :)
I am paying a deposit on behalf of my sister in order to secure a rental.
I have no keys to the place or no signed lease from the owners even
though the rental agent says its fully approved and they are just waiting for the deposit.

Well ALL rental agents are the spawn of the devil...but that is a story for another day. Do NOT pay a deposit untill a detailed inspection of the properties has been done. During inspection take pictures of EVERYTHING and make the agent be there as well...make sure he/she in pictures as well. Then draw up a detailed list of all the damage and stuff that must be repaired and have the agent sign it CLEARLY and date it as well. Believe me they WILL fu(k you out of the deposit.

You'll be paying interest from the moment you do the transfer...

...and AFAIK - an EFT from your credit card is the same as a cash withdrawal...you can kiss the money goodbye.

Thanks for the help and advice guys.
Never rented before so I am new to all of this.

Gonna be giving the agent a call.
