Mate 9

Mine, from MTN is a single SIM, MHA-L09 (looks like the L29 is the local dual SIM version). I haven't been asked to register for the Select. I'm sure Proof of Purchase will be sufficient.

BTW I checked with Huawei and the Mate 9 is not coverd with Huawei Select.

Someone should tell Huawei support. I emailed them a while back and they responded with:
"We have looked into your inquiry, please kindly note that the Mate 9
is not covered under Huawei Select but rather it is covered for either
two free screen replacement or one mainboard replacement within the
3 months period after the purchase."

I was told that the screen replacements are available for two years from date of purchase (the warranty period referred to in the poster)

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone know or can recommend a way to get a Huawei Mate 9 Pro in SA? I cant seem to find any stores that stock it.

I like everything about the Mate 9 except that I would prefer a 5.5" screen and I dont like the finger print reader at the back. So the Mate 9 Pro seem to be ideal for me.

Go for the P10 Plus.

5.5" screen, fingerprint reader up front, 2017 release and the rice is reasonable. Huaweis Pro series are ridiculously overpriced - not judging you, maybe you want to spend an extra 10k to have "Porsche Design" written down the side of your phone and can afford it.

Telkom currently has deal where they'll throw in a Huawei Fit with aP10 Plus.

Just saw a Android 8 update on my phone and installed. Over 2GB data later and I have Oreo.
