A friend passed by there for the first time a 2 years ago while transporting a car back from JHB with the train.
The half hour he spent in the town, had to be told (due to all the details) in about 90 minutes. :D

I've always been wanting to go.
Take a train trip out of Cape Town with some friends, but for some reason I can never get anyone to go. Or they need 7 months to plan for a 2 day trip, 237km away

So now I've got the oppurtunity to arrange a Teambuilding for 11 people and would like to head out there.
But I think my budget's not the greatest to work with.

The rates for The Lord Milner are creeping heavily into the 10k, perhaps 20k at a push that I have to play around with.

Getting there with the train (which I'd really prefer for the views and the extended booze run) is so cheap, but hotel accomodation is a bit steep.

For those of you whom have been there.
Are there any other accomodation options for a group of 11?

Hehe, as a build up to the event start teasing the employees with the song: "Train na Matjiesfontein"

Sound pretty awesome and something different.

If you are a gay guy you should have a great time. Town is very "pink". Lots of "maatjies" in Matjiesfontein

Very interesting and nice outing.
