Matrix i7 Gaming machine

The graphics card is the most important part of a gaming machine, and the GTS250 is really not good at all. Rather try to build up a pc on your own. You are likely to save quite a bit

Agreed.
Its definately alot cheaper and more fun to build up your own machines. Depending on what area you stay in try to find small suppliers that have access to recent tech for less cost. Good Luck

I wish they would specify the brands of the components. Which x58 board, motherboard, psu, gts250, ram are they using? And i never heard of zixa or whoever those guys are. I'm guessing they went as low end as possible on all those parts.

Knowing Matrix, some Biostar/ECS mobo (possibly MSI), EZ Cool PSU, Hynix (or Matrix-branded) RAM and Forsa GFX.

yeah then no it isn't worth it at all. You could spend r9k and get that list of components with very good brands and a better gfx card. It isn't a terrible price but you can do better and you should for that amount of money.

Awesome I knew postin here would help , now if anyone can help me out with where?

I am in JHB , I don't mind building it , just need a contact to purchase from....

Thanks again D

Dont know about the places up north. But do yourself one favour - if this is predominantly going to be a gaming machine, dont get an i7. Save the cash, spend it on a better graphics card like the ATI 5850/5870. Get a i5 750, or Phenom 955 instead.

pcint is fine:

p6t mobo - r2400
i7 920 - r2800
6gb ddr3 1333 Kingston - r1500
1tb hdd - r854
dvd-rw? - r200
4890 - r2300
Raidmax Sagittarius - r600

PSU rather get elsewhere, Huntkey isn't the best:
Coolermaster extreme power 550w - r600 (sybaritic)

If you can stretch it to r10700 this is a well balanced pc with much better specs for only about r1500 more.

Or to go i5 as was recommended (I agree on the recommendation btw):
i5 750 - r1900
P7P55D - r1500
4gb ddr3 1333 - r1000
1tb hdd - r854
dvd-rw? - r200
4890 - r2300
Raidmax Sagittarius - r600
Coolermaster extreme power 550w - r600 (sybaritic)

= r9000

Agreed, dont waste your money on CPU power that you wont need. Invest in a different mobo and graphics card. nice point Archer

Now just to convince you all to get the 955 instead of the i5
They cost the same, perform the same, so why not support the underdog, keep AMD in the business of keeping Intel's prices in check. /end jedi mind tricks attempt
:D

OoH with a 955 you would save a fair amount:

Mobo: M4A785T-M - r1000
955 be - r1900

No need to convince me :D
