Mauritius vs Thailand vs other?

Hi,

The SO and I are finally financially stable enough to go overseas and have fun and experience the world.

This will be our first time going overseas (lesotho doesnt count).

My question is, where to go to? That will provide us with the ultimate experience, to want to travel again.

Which continent/country/who knows what, will provide us with the best memories/experiences.

For now, lets say budget isn't a problem (although in reality it always is :P)

edit: Also forgot to mention, we both have our passports (as we needed it for lesotho), what other docs are required to go into another country? a visa? and roughly the prices?

Do Thailand it will definitively infect you with the travel bug. Visa can be arranged when you land. Please don't take the all inclusive deals. Do research to know what you want to see and do but don't book anything. Pitch up in Bangkok and make your way down to khao san road everything can be arranged from there and you can also change your mind on the fly. You will also meet interesting people that will tell you about cool stuff to do and see.

Also make sure you both have back packs as its easier to travel with.

Edit: Unless you guys are the boring types that want to sit in a Fancy hotel with a nice beach for 7 days and then go home. Then do the packages deals.

Out of season Zanzibar is also something worth looking at if you are after an island type trip

Agreed, it's also really cheap. 1time flies direct. Safe too, the locals don't put up with crime... Had a great time there with the GF.

Zanzibar is wonderful. I went there for honeymoon 3 years ago and have been going back every year. I wish I could live there a few months each year.
