Maverick 4k box remote control issue

Does anyone here have the Maverick 4k streaming box? I've got no complaints about the Maverick itself, (I have 2), but in both of them the remote control is crazy difficult to manage. You try to move one slot across and it skips over three or four. You try to pick a movie on Netflix and it always skips past no matter how delicately I touch the control. And don't get me started on typing in search terms. Skipping past the letters I need, inputting three or four letter when I want one. It's crazy. I don't know if it's just somehow too sensitive? (And the remotes do this on both the boxes I have. They are both almost impossible to use.)
 
How far are you away from the unit?
How is the battery level?
 
I've had a Maverick 4k since last year & have had no problems with it or the remote. Maybe contact the supplier for a replacement? They're a local company & they boast lifetime technical support for their products on their website. 0861 00 22 36 [email protected]

I have the same issue. Had it for not even a year and the remote began to skip when you go to the right for example. After a few months it started to really freak out and all the buttons are bugged. You press one time and it registers as three times. Very frustrating when try to search for something on youtube. Do you know if you can buy a remote seperately?

I have the same issue. Have logged a call with their support team. Waiting for a response
 
i have this same issue. would love to hear if a resolution was found.
 
Is it not the batteries?
Can you see the battery % in settings?

This is pretty weird to me, I’ve had one of these boxes for years and never noticed that behaviour … ended up having one remote break and ordered another, still no issue like that.

I wonder if this isn’t an accessibility setting in the software which got activated somehow? I’d recommend trying a full factory reset of the box.

Once you’ve re-paired the remote, it might be resolved. Failing that, you can only try get another replacement remote (it seems Takealot doesn’t stock the replacement Maverick remotes anymore).
 
Where I've seen something like this on other equipment years ago, it was an incorrect device's remote code or mode setting that sort-of worked but not really. So if it's not a dedicated remote look into that.

They can do this - but it’s a step backwards in terms of features as you know. And it needs to be the latest 3rd gen 128 if you want HDR10+ and Ethernet - otherwise you lose those too

I think they need to decide whether they prefer media features or the smoothness when clicking through icons like you do

Isn't it exciting enough for you in your own threads? Or is it just like most Apple products, boring and just "works". Go make some threads there, go be spontaneous, go talk about how smooth the icon switching is...

Not really it just works. Had to hard reboot by unplugging the Nova box this weekend because it was just dead.

I’ve had the same with my Apple … it was just dead. Luckily I Googled and brought it to life

But it’s not convenient because many things are deleted when Apple is involved, assuming anything less than perfect.

I thought you knew this?

Edit : Strange how you didn’t see it as you have a tag on the word Apple, I thought?

That's where you're mistaken he has a tag on anything not Apple.
How else is he going to convert the unwashed to the Apple cult if he only hangs with his own kind.
