Max speed in area DOWNGRADED to 2MBPS

So my area (Escombe, Queensburgh in Durban) has (until now) had 4 Mbps speeds for quite a few years now. While I never got the full 4 Mbps the speeds always hovered at around 3.12Mbps. A few months ago however I began to notice that the speed had definitely decreased and when I went on the Telkom site to check the maximum available speed in my area with the ADSL checker tool I see that the maximum available speed in my area is 2 Mbps. The most annoying thing now though is that I'm paying for 10Mbps line speeds!

Anyone know how I could get my old speeds back?

What speed are you syncing at now?

If you're syncing at 4Mbit you should only be paying for 4Mbit not 10Mbit.

Dude, that SNR and Attenuation are very bad.

Maybe log a fault and recreat your port.

EDIT: Also when logging the fault what exactly do I tell them? My SNR and Attenuation are very bad so they must come fix what exactly?

Funny thing is my backwater town has been upgraded to 10mb

Got the port reset and logged a fault for slow speeds. Syncing at slightly above 2048kbps now.

So basically the Telkom technician guy tells me that because of the amount of people in the area that now have ADSL its not possible to offer the 4mbps anymore. This is stupid...
