FAT32 theoretically support drives up to 2TB in size. You cannot format a partition larger than 128 GB in size using the FAT32 file system on Windows 98.

Depends on what size Hdd your motherboard will support. What Mainboard do you have and what size Hdd do you have now ?

I've got a pent 2 and also two Hdd a 40 gig one (for games) and also a 20 gig one (Windows Operating system)

You should be able to put another 40, or even and 80GB (as long as you part it into 2 40GB) I would not go any higher than that.

I've used FAT32 (without any problems) with my 160Gb drive. IoMega drive - even came with a FAT32 formatter which enables one to format these drives.

Except from using in Windows 98, one should seriously consider using NTFS. Faster, safer, more secure.

Try this link. Win 98 should be able to read disks up to 2TB if fat 32 and large disk is enabled.

My advice is do NOT run anything over 120Gb. I have formatted and used larger drives, everything LOOKS like it is working, then you start getting strange errors and read and write errors. BE WARNED!

I've seen that some drives doesn't allow Win98 to see full 80Gb capacity - you'll have to split it into two partitions, others allow full 80Gb capacity, and can be formatted with one 80Gb partition. Weird.

But who uses dead98 anyways?

nah I don't want xp. it's on 2 of the 3 computers I have. I rather stick with 98 because otherwise my pc will run far too slow
