Maximum over limit before cap

I'm not sure if there is a thread like this but how about us 'abusers' posting your highest usage before getting capped. I have to boast 'cos I'm on a free 2gb telkom account which I have for 6 months as part of the mnet on demand trial, this month I am up to 28gb already and as yet uncapped!!!
 
At this stage i try and use my cap more responsibly! I have heard of people doing well over 30gigs per month, as well as people sharing accounts and then just before cap like 2.5g about 5 different guys slam an account and downloads massive amounts!

Are u guys with Telkom ISP getting the same kind of uncapped performace so far this January...Has anyone gone over the 3Gb cap yet?

21gigs and...Username and Password Invalid on the Domain

I got to approx. 21gigs and am now having an error message (as above). I don't know whether or not it's because I am capped or if there is an actual error - who knows with Telkom. Tried phoning them to find out, but as I said on another post, I can't get through to them. Does anyone know what happens when you're capped with a TI account with the new usage system? Please tell.

Also another friendly reminder to those who have "cancelled" any TelkomInternet accounts: DOUBLE CHECK! I've had to fork out R1200 for an account that I didn't need (and had cancelled by phone, fax and email) due to their negligence. Maybe I could take them to court? But then again, when I found out I still had the account I used them so that probably makes my case null and void.

OK.

I have *multiple* accounts, and *multiple* PC's on *multiple* lines.

Normally run them concurrently, flat out, until an account gets Capped, then its onto Number2, etc...

Loading up SASA as we speak...

Account 1 (Non-TelkomInternet) = 0.32/10gb
Account 2 (Non-TelkomInternet) = 4.175/10gb
Account 3 (TelkomInternet) = 47/3gb (CAPPED)
Account 4 (TelkomInternet) = 52/3gb (CAPPED)
Account 5 (TelkomInternet) = 22/3gb (CAPPED)
Account 6 (TelkomInternet) = 0.3/3gb (NOT CAPPED)
Account 7 (TelkomInternet) = 0.2/3gb (NOT CAPPED)
Account 8 (TelkomInternet) = 0.0/3gb (NOT CAPPED)
Account 9 (TelkomInternet) = 0.0/3gb (NOT CAPPED)

In case you are wondering, all of these are at an office. They are not at home. They are on a 1meg line, and their sole purpose is the transmission and receipt of high-quality, high-res images from designers, publishers etc... around the globe.

So before any of you start bitching about how I am "abusing" the system, stop for a second and think about how badly I'm getting f-d in the a. I have to pay for each of those DAMN accounts.

I use torrents at home. That is a whole other story ;)

As far as I have experienced, that "error" message u get is how Helkom gracefully announces to you that u have been capped.
Your username and password gets disabled till the end of the month....
 
Total usage for January : 38.7094 GB

Then got "Password Invalid on this Domain". So i phoned telkomsa whatever and they kindly told me that that they hardcapped me : (
 
Total for Jan 2006 = 23Gb

Now Im capped.

Any body know if you buy extra 1gb from telkom is this only 1 gb or can you go over 1gb?
 
I got capped on Monday. Total bandwidth usage: 27GB :/

I phoned TI aswell to find out wether there was a problem on their side, they told me that i was hardcapped.

Funny thing is when i switched my pc on this morning i got connected. Whats even better is my account is reset.

My only question is - whats the bill gonna be?
 
i also got capped on monday with 24 gigs.... it gives that damn error saying user name or password incorrect!!!!

i phoned in and it is true what Pretdsl said, ur account gets disabled once u abuse your cap...

What line speed do u have?
What kind of account is it?

Thats just not possible in 11 days....

Max line speed 1024 bits per second = 128 kilobytes per second

128*60sconds*60min*24 hours =11059200Kb = 10.546875 Gigabytes

* 11 days = 116.015625 Gigabytes.

And thats if the world was perfect and u got 100% of the through put for ur line speed which it is not. maybe 85%.

So ur lying, easy as that.
