I came across one flaw so far...the Ctrl + Tab to jumb back to the previous tab doesn't work or is not there anymore

VERY VERY BIG difference between the two...
IE7 engine!? Uhm... Does that mean you are required to have Windows XP + SP2 installed to run Maxthon 2?

I've been using Maxthon 2. It's missing a number of features that will be in the final version (tab locking, auto favorite import/export/sync, etc.), but seems pretty functional. I like the new methods of handling groups. The ad-blocker is brilliant! It's still a long way from finished though. I can use it at home, but it simply will not get past the logon screen on my work PC.

IE has good standards, it may not be the safest browser but the guys at Redmond are very glued up with standards. Yes they still lack with CSS rendering and a couple other things but you gotta give them probs for having the bigger share of the browser market.

I've been using Maxthon for a long time now, at work and at home, and I'm using this Maxthon 2 at work. Makes browsing between 10+ tabs at a time so much easier and it is safe. If you have a descent Antivirus and a firewall, you should be safe anyways.

The final product is going to ROCK!

Oh and at least with the IE engine, I'm not killing my PC! Just look at FF...

Ja, and at least you know every page will load fine and it will work.

Its like using an alternative browser, but without the others main flaw, I mean rendering a page is obviously the point of a browser.

Good point! I use Maxthon on Windows 2000 so I'm basically stuck until I upgrade to XP.

Maxthon 2 supports both IE 6 and IE 7.

The way I always understood it is that Maxthon just uses which ever ie engine it finds on your system ... what I am not sure about is wether that leaves it with the same security flaws as ie or now

Out of the box, it has far more features than Firefox. And, like FF, it supports plugins.
